KIBAKI Launch Party: Our First Singles Night in Düsseldorf

by Shivam Bhardwaj 4 min read

On September 19, we officially launched KIBAKI in Germany with something we’ve held dear from day one: creating space for people to connect in real life.

For our first KIBAKI Singles Night we hosted approximately 150 guests at Ristorante Buongiorno in Düsseldorf for an evening focused on conversation, meeting new people and fostering a truly social vibe.

But what made the night so special was the diversity of guests in the room. Not only did we have Persians and Germans, but also Americans and guests from a variety of international backgrounds. There were people who came with friends. There were people who came to meet someone new. And there were people who just wanted to check out the first KIBAKI event.

A Launch Event Focused on Real Connections

KIBAKI was built around the idea of creating an easier way for Persians and those interested in the Persian community to meet. But we also understood there would be connections beyond that.

The launch night was the first time we were able to create a physical space for that idea to live. Instead of swiping through profiles on a screen, people were able to meet organically, chat over a drink, dance with one another, hang with friends and find people they may not have had the opportunity to meet any other way.

That’s also why Events are such a key feature on KIBAKI. Not only can people find Events around them and request to join, but they can also create Events for the community.

Approximately 150 Guests From All Different Walks of Life

Instead of forcing people into structured networking or presentation sessions, we wanted people to relax and meet naturally.

About 150 guests came through throughout the night. Persian guests mingled with people of German and international backgrounds. We quickly saw the room fill with conversations, introductions, music and new friendships.

For us, that was the most rewarding part of the launch. Seeing KIBAKI connect the Persian community with the world around them IRL, rather than just an idea we talked about.

Friends, Event Creators and Familiar Faces

We also had a number of Iranian-German creators, influencers and familiar faces come through and support the event as friends.

This was not us flying in Instagram influencers to portray a false sense of community. They were there because they wanted to be a part of our first launch night — to celebrate with us and meet new people.

KIBAKI’S First Singles Night

The event took place at Ristorante Buongiorno in Düsseldorf as a private 18+ Singles Night. The door opened at 21:00 and people danced until 02:00.

Some people came to the event to date. Others came to make friends. Others came to meet the community. Or they just came to have a fun night out. We loved that people didn’t feel forced to fit their experience into one box. They came how they wanted to and connected however they felt was natural.

That’s how we plan to approach all future KIBAKI events moving forward: as safe spaces for people to meet each other outside of forced categories.

Partnered with Ristorante Buongiorno and B1 Medical

sponsors

We partnered with Ristorante Buongiorno for the KIBAKI Launch Party and B1 Medical was our main sponsor for the evening.
B1 Medizinische Kosmetik is an aesthetic medicine studio with several locations throughout Germany including in Düsseldorf. We’d like to thank both partners for supporting KIBAKI’s first large scale community event.

What’s Next?

Though Düsseldorf was the first ever KIBAKI Singles Night, it definitely won’t be our last.
We hope to bring more KIBAKI Singles Nights to cities throughout Germany and around the world over time.
Easy. Help people meet each other online and give them more opportunities to meet in person. Happens whether that’s a date, a friendship, a new community or just a great night out.

September 19 was just the start. Seeing as many as 150 people come together for the first KIBAKI night proved there’s an active community here hungry for more.

Hope to see you at the next KIBAKI event.
